During this walk you’ll pass the Ribeira de Torre, one of the most beautiful streams in Santo Antão. At Ribeira de Torre you can see ancient pine trees, often half hidden in the mist. Together with the sounds of birds, this spot gives a special, mysterious feeling. The walk starts at Fajã da Cima, also called Água das Caldeiras, at an altitude of 1,470 meters. You walk along a path with agricultural terraces and small cultivated houses and you’ll find small paths along the way that seem to disappear between the rocks. Passing through the hills you reach the Ribeira de Torre. During the descent to Ribeira Grande you’ll come across several banana and coffee plantations. At the end of the route, there is also a grog distillery.
