Embark on an adventure to discover the fantastic island of São Nicolau in a vehicle accompanied by an experienced tour guide.
Make the most of your time in São Nicolau by booking this hassle-free tour, taking you in a 4x4 so you can also reach all the remote areas. The tour starts with check-in at the hotel to keep everything running smoothly, then on to the stunning scenery of Fajã de Baixo, check out the views of Monte Gordo Natural Park, visit the Fish Museum and much more. There's also a local lunch to refuel, but at your own expense. Collect from your accommodation in Ribeira Brava or Tarrafal and start your discovery. Leave Ribeira on one of Cape Verde Brava's most spectacular roads and admire a series of deep streams cut into the mountainside of the north coast before the lush Fajã Valley.
Then enjoy a scenic drive that gently climbs Fajã de Baixo and Fajã de Cima, surrounded by mountains mixed with green fields, vertiginous streams, craggy peaks and arid landscapes. Head to Hortelã with incredible views of the southern slope of the Monte Gordo Natural Park, one of the seven wonders of Cape Verde.
Continue south-west and find the pretty fishing village of Tarrafal. There, visit the Fishing Museum built with the main objective of "keeping alive the history of the whaling race", which took place between the 17th and 18th centuries. Afterwards, take a dip in Praia do Françes, a famous beach with medicinal sand rich in titanium and iodine, recommended for the relief of bone and joint diseases and sought after for this reason.
Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant and then drive to Carberinho, an unmissable stretch of dramatic, undulating and gentle rock formations that have created a new wonder of Cape Verde.
