Santo Antao: 4 noches/5 días - excursión a pie

Take an early morning boat to Santo Antão, followed by a long transfer along the old mountain road with photo stops at Cova Crater, Chá de Mato and Delgadin. This walk takes you through three valleys of Santo Antão, known for their grog distilleries and lush vegetation. Starting in Coculi, passing through João Afonso and ending in Chá de Pedras, you'll find sugar cane and banana plantations along the way. Overnight in Chá de Pedras.

Climb up the valley of Cha de las Pedras to enter the remote and wild cirque of Aguada, a hidden paradise where villages are surrounded by terraced plantations irrigated by intricate canal systems. Descend to your lodge overlooking a beautiful torrent flowing through a deep gorge. Overnight in Chá de Pedras.

Transfer through the Ribeira Grande and Garça valleys to reach the seafront near Cruzhina. The Cruzinha da Garça walk is one of the highlights of Santo Antão, known as the queen of coastal walks. Starting in the fishing village of Cruzinha, passing through the villages of Formiguinhas and Corvo, you'll find impressive mountain slopes and steep chasms on the way to the village of Fontainhas. Overnight in Ponta do Sol.

Transfer to Ribeira da Torre, one of the island's most spectacular valleys with its volcanic peak and nestled village. Embark on a circular walk in this steep valley, surrounded by banana and sugar cane plantations. Return to Ponta do Sol for the night.

Head along the north coast to discover tropical crops and peasant life in the Paul Valley. Walk along banana, sugar cane, cassava and sweet potato terraces, with the opportunity to visit a distillery (from January to June). Transfer to Porto Novo and ferry to São Vicente.
