Tarrafal Concentration Camp

Classified as a National Monument, the Tarrafal concentration camp is now a museum that recalls the history of this space created to imprison political prisoners of the Portuguese fascist regime and opponents of colonialism. The space preserves its original architecture. You can tour the old cells, infirmary, cafeteria and other spaces of the former prison, which has been transformed into a museum and interpretation center.
